Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Bank Statement Parser (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Bank Statement Parser, a business based in Australia (“we”, “our”, or “us”).
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Bank Statement Parser is a document conversion tool that converts bank statement PDFs into structured CSV files. The Service performs format conversion only.
Important disclaimer
Bank Statement Parser is not a financial institution, bank, credit provider, or licensed financial adviser. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) or any equivalent licence in any jurisdiction. Nothing produced by the Service constitutes financial, accounting, tax, or investment advice. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of the CSV output before relying on it for any financial or accounting purpose.
3. Your Account
When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use
You may not share your account credentials with any other person.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Upload any document you do not own or are not legally authorised to process
- Upload documents containing personal information of third parties without their consent
- Use the Service in connection with money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, or any other illegal activity
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract the Service's underlying algorithm or code
- Use automated tools to submit documents in bulk beyond any applicable rate limits
- Upload files that are not genuine bank statement PDFs
- Attempt to circumvent security controls or access other users' data
5. Your Documents and Data
You retain full ownership of all documents you upload and all CSV files generated from them. By uploading a document, you grant us a limited, temporary, non-exclusive licence to process that document solely for the purpose of producing the CSV output.
By uploading a bank statement, you warrant that:
- You are the account holder of the bank account shown in the statement, or you are legally authorised to process that document on behalf of the account holder (for example, as an accountant or bookkeeper acting under a valid authority)
- Your upload and use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation
Uploaded PDFs and generated CSVs are deleted from our systems within 24 hours. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
6. Intellectual Property
We own all rights in the Service, including the website, software, algorithms, and visual design. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own personal or business purposes.
7. Pricing and Payments
The Service is available on the following tiers:
- Free (anonymous): 1 conversion per 24-hour period, no account required.
- Free (registered): 5 pages per 24-hour period with a free account.
- Pay-per-use: Credit-based; pricing as displayed on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Credits do not expire.
- Pro subscription: Unlimited pages; billed monthly or annually as selected. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to registered users. Price changes will not affect prepurchased credits or the current billing period of active subscriptions.
Refunds for paid subscriptions are available within 14 days of purchase if the Service has not been used during that period. For Australian consumers, statutory remedies under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of this policy.
8. Accuracy of Output
The accuracy of the CSV output depends on the structure, quality, and format of the input PDF. The Service may not correctly parse scanned images (as opposed to native PDFs), documents in unusual formats, or documents from banks not on our supported list. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy for any input document.
You should always verify the CSV output against your original statement before using it for any financial, tax, accounting, or legal purpose.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law), our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by any legislation (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bank Statement Parser, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your upload of documents you are not authorised to process; (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal activity, or fail to pay amounts owed. We will give reasonable notice where practicable.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Any data retained will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, and Google. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party provider.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for the resolution of any disputes arising under these Terms.
EU and UK residents retain the right to seek remedies before courts in their country of residence as provided under applicable consumer protection legislation.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute informally before pursuing formal proceedings.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
